Go for baroque! Create a real fashion drama

Ready for a bit of drama? The season’s baroque trend features elaborately embellished accents ornamenting just about everything you can imagine. Choose just one for a quick update, or go all-out and earn that “drama queen” title! Bold and belted
Create a baroque statement front and center with the addition of an embellished metal and gemstone belt. Trend Tip: Jeweled velvet sashes that tie at the waist are an equally trendy way to get this look.

Stepping Out
Is there anything more glamorous than a fabulous new pair of high-heeled shoes? Get ready for hot times ahead with the perfect pair of embellished pumps, sandals or boots. In velvet or satin studded with sequins and jewels (like these are from Steve Madden for $89), they are the ultimate baroque accent for our very modern times.

Trend Tip: Remember shoe clips? These jeweled brooches, designed to clip on the front of your shoes, are a great way to quickly update last year's styles.

On the cuff
The boldly embellished cuff — whether ornately carved or gemstone-studded — is a quick and easy way to instantly add a touch of baroque to your style. The trendiest will dare to go for a wider width … fashionistas are wearing cuffs that are four inches wide or more!

Cross Purpose
With their ornate designs and historical relevance, motifs such as the Maltese cross (an ancient mark of honor and bravery) and other baroque symbols naturally make perfect accessories. We love the rich mix of pendants and charms with metal and gemstones in a necklace, bracelet or earrings.

Trend Tip: An ornate brooch or pendant is equally trendy on a velvet, satin or chiffon cord or ribbon — another way to ornament yourself this season.

Brocade Parade
Get ready for a “brocade parade” as we head into the holidays. This gorgeous printed fabric is at the top of every fashionista’s must-have list — consider a pair of shoes, a slim clutch handbag, a scarf or shawl — or even a fabulous suit. You get extra trend points if your brocade piece is embellished with faux fur, jewels or velvet trim — or all of the above!
