Let the ear bleeding begin.
“American Idol” is kicking off auditions for season five later this month in California.
The Fox talent search gives everyday people the chance to believe they have what it takes to be a star. And while the search has produced its share of William Hung sound-alikes, the previous “Idol” winners all came through the same audition process.
Auditions begin in San Francisco on August 18th. That’ll be followed by open calls in five more cities -- Boston, Memphis, Denver, Chicago and Austin, Texas.
