DUESSELDORF, Germany - Germany beat Spain 2-1 with a decisive victory in doubles Friday to reach the World Team Cup final against Argentina.

The Germans will play for the title Saturday in this warmup event for the French Open, which begins Monday. The host nation last appeared in the final in 1988 when it beat the Czech Republic.

In another group match, the United States lost to Sweden 2-1.

Spain earned the first point when Tommy Robredo beat Tommy Haas 7-6 (4), 6-4, but Florian Mayer tied it for Germany by edging David Ferrer 6-3, 6-7 (3), 6-3. Germany then won when Haas and Alexander Waske defeated Robredo and Santiago Ventura 7-6 (3), 6-3.

In the U.S.-Sweden match, Vincent Spadea captured his first victory in nine matches at the tournament by defeating Joachim Johansson 6-3, 6-4.

Thomas Johansson then topped Jeff Morrison 6-1, 6-4, winning seven straight games in one stretch. Jonas Bjorkman and Thomas Johansson sent twins Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan to their first loss this week with a 6-4, 6-2 victory.
