Our columnist Wendell Wittler shared his favorite “Star Wars” saga moments with you and we asked you to share yours. Here are just a few of the responses we received:

Han’s humor
My favorite line is from “The Empire Strikes Back,” when C-3PO is on the Millennium Falcon and after talking to the Cloud City computer electronically to find out what was wrong with the hyperdrive he tells Han Solo “it says that the hyperdrive has been damaged.” Han looks back at C-3PO after he stated the obvious and says “I'm glad you're here to tell us these things. Chewey, take the professor and plug him into the hyperdrive.” That was just one of the classic lines from Han that added to the humor the original films had. —Paul, Phoenix, Ariz.

Darth’s discovery
One of my favorite scenes is in “Return of the Jedi” when Luke goes to confront his father, and his thoughts reveal the Luke has a “Sister ... so, you have a twin sister. Obi-wan was wise to hide her from me, if you will not turn to the Dark Side, then perhaps she will!” Ahh, still gives me goosebumps. —Keri, Waterbury, Conn.

Jedi in action
The opening seen in “Episode I.” I had waited 16 years to see more of this universe and it didn't disappoint as I was actually seeing Jedis in action, and when Qui-Gon Jinn stabbed the door with his lightsaber and the music played, it was awesome! —Roland Sternfels, Covington, La.

Our favorite smartass
In “Empire,” the morning after Luke has disappeared on Hoth and Han has gone looking for him, the search team is circling the area trying to contact them. The feeling of dread and anticipation, knowing that they have to be at least alive for the movie to go on, but not really sure ... and then hearing Han over the radio “Good morning, nice of you guys to drop by!” just makes you want to leap out of your chair and cheer for the smartass! His comments throughout “Episode V” are probably the most memorable of all the movies. —Laura, Montreal, Quebec

Foreshadowing
When Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are heading into the bar on Coruscant in pursuit of Zam Wessel, and Obi-Wan hands Anakin his lightsaber and a stern lecture concluding up with “Why do I feel you are going to be the death of me?” What a great segway to “Episode IV: A New Hope” where Anakin as Darth Vader actually is the death of him. Wonderful tie in. —Linda, Corpus Christi, Texas

The plot thickens
From “Empire” when Luke flies off in his X-wing to save his friends on Cloud City, the ghost of Ben states, “That boy was our last hope.” Yoda then replies, “No, there is another.” Hello, curveball! Another!? Who could that be? The combination of Ben's depressed voice, Yoda's stunning secret and the glowing light of Luke's engines on their faces as he departs make for a very intriguing moment. —Chris Sgouros, Frederick, Md.

Sage Yoda
A couple of standouts: Yoda's speech on the force: “luminous beings are we, not this crude matter...” and, of course, “judge me by my size do you? And well you should not, for my ally is the force, and a powerful ally it is.”

One more: The opening “helicopter shot” of Luke on a Tauntaun on Hoth in “Empire.” I love that opening shot! —Scott, Western Australia

Chewie gets the last laugh
From “Empire Strikes Back”: Luke is recuperating after nearly freezing to death and is visited by Han, Chewie and Leia:

Han: “She revealed her true feelings for me.”
Leia: “I don't know where you get your delusions, laser brain.”
Chewie laughs.
Han to Chewie: “Laugh it up, fuzzball.” —Laura Canavan, Pittsburgh, Penn.

Final reunion
I get goosebumps every time I watch Luke smile at his Jedi “family” at the end of “Return of the Jedi” — his father, Obi-Wan and Yoda, as they watch with satisfaction as the rest of Luke's friends celebrate the victory over the evil Empire. And the music playing in the background is great too!  —R.J. Czarney, Seattle, Wash.

What an opening
The opening scene of “A New Hope” when the Imperial Star Destroyer overtakes Leia's much smaller ship. To this day, almost 30 years later it still makes my heart pound in anticipation every time I see it. My favorite real-life memory is meeting Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker and getting their autographs. —Sean, Colorado

Yoda's true power
When you first see Yoda raising Luke's X-Wing from the muddy swamp in Dagobah. That scene blew my mind at how strong the force was and how Yoda truly was a Jedi Master. It was great because Yoda seems so unassuming when you first met him and that scene really gave the viewers a taste of how powerful he really was. —Tina, Richmond, Va.

Father vs. son
In “Return of the Jedi” when Luke and Vader fight furiously then have the so called father-son moment as Vader lie dying asking Luke to remove his mask so he can look at him with his own eyes. —Ocie Thiele, Port Orchard, Wash.

Telling Jabba how it is
When Luke is about to be forced into the sarlacc pit in “Return of the Jedi” and confidently tells Jabba “this is your last chance, free us or die.” Then proceeds to “bring it” and turns the tables on the most evil slug in the galaxy. —Scott Ripple, Houston, Texas

Memorable line
“That's no moon....that's a space station.” How could you leave that memorable line out! —Donn, Bristol, Va.
