He is dedicated, and he is tough. There's no doubt that Philadelphia's John Bigelow IV is serious about golf.
NBC 10's Bill Henley went with the local three-year-old golf prodigy to a local driving range recently to get some tips from John.
John has a golf swing of someone much older and he's ambidextrous. He also goes by the nickname "Fore" on the golf course.
John's father, John Bigelow Sr., is a pro golfer but he says his son picked up his beautiful swing naturally - when he was 11 months old.
John IV told Henley his favorite golfers were his coach, Mr. Riley, and recent Masters champion Tiger Woods.
But he's armed with something the Tiger doesn't possess: a set of Charlie Brown golf clubs.
John's father says his son watches the Golf Channel at home instead of other children's programs and he has a mini-driving range in the basement.
Back at the range, Henley finally gets some pointers from John IV and a shocking admission, when he asks the prodigy who is the better golfer: John Bigelow IV or Tiger Woods.
"Me," John responds.
When asked about his son's future on the links, John Bigelow Sr. says he doesn't really know if his son will remain interested in the game as he grows up, and it will be his son's decision if he continues to play.
"He is only 3 and he may not like it," dad says.
But at the end of the interview, John IV is anxious to get off the TV set and onto driving range to hit some more balls and practice with his coach.
