Tuesday's explosion occurred near Bab al-Muadhim, a compound of several medical hospitals in northeastern Baghdad, police Col. Muhanad Sadoun said.
The bomber also died in the blast.

The U.S. military said in a statement a soldier with the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force was killed on Monday. It gave no details about the incident on grounds it could put U.S. forces at greater risk from guerrilla attack.
