LOS ANGELES - True love has once again crashed on the rocky shoals of reality television: Meredith Phillips and Ian McKee of “The Bachelorette” are calling it quits.
“Our relationship began with great expectations for a happy ending, but unfortunately things didn’t work out as we had hoped,” the pair told the TV magazine “Extra.”
“What we experienced together was incredible and we are both sad to see it end,” Phillips and McKee said in the joint statement Tuesday. They were together for a year.
A previous “Bachelorette,” Trista Rehn, married her choice, Ryan Sutter, in a $4 million televised ceremony.
None of the contestants on “The Bachelor” — Alex Michel, Aaron Buerge, Andrew Firestone, Bob Guiney or Jesse Palmer — ended up with the women they chose on the ABC show.
