Britney Spears wants to end her feud with Christina Aguilera. And it’s not just because she’s a nice girl, says a source.

The newlywed pop princess has written a letter to her rival, suggesting they become friends.

“The letter went on about how pretty and rested Aguilera looks lately,” says an insider, who adds that Spears may have an ulterior motive.

“Britney really wants to get into production and become a major music mogul,” says the insider. “She figures that a shrewd businesswoman needs all the friends she can get — and there’s no point having Christina as an enemy.”

Looks like George Clooney and Bill O’Reilly will be working together.

O’Reilly is joining the tsunami fundraising efforts that Clooney has been working on. The two have been butting heads over the efforts; last week, the Fox commentator said on the O’Reilly Factor that Clooney and his celebrity friends had better make sure any money they raised actually reaches the victims.

Clooney shot off a letter, challenging O’Reilly to join him and the other celebs in the fundraiser. Yesterday, the “Ocean’s Twelve” star fired off another letter to O’Reilly, prodding him to sign on. “It’s as simple as this,” Clooney wrote. “You’re either with this joint effort or against it.”

O’Reilly’s rep says the second note was unnecessary and that the pundit had announced on his radio show that he planned to join the effort about two hours before Clooney’s second letter was sent. “Unfortunately,” Mr. Clooney will be in Los Angeles and I’ll be in New York,” the Fox man said on the “O’Reilly Factor” last night. “So we’ll just have to continue being long distance penpals — although he’s welcome on the Factor anytime.”

Was Brad Pitt sending his fans a message via his T-shirt? Some fans noticed that as he was having his farewell vacation with wife Jennifer Aniston, the “Troy” hunk was wearing a shirt emblazoned with the word “Trash.” “Coincidence? I think not —  not with such press-savvy people,” one celeb watcher told The Scoop. “I think he was sending a message so we know which one is being dumped.”  . . . Lindsay Lohan turned heads at Los Angeles International airport this week when she strutted through wearing pink pajamas and a baseball cap.  . . .Looks like those rumors that Barbra Streisand didn’t get along with Minnie Driver were true. The “Phantom of the Opera” star was engaged to Jason Brolin, and when the UK’s ITV asked her what it would have been like to have Streisand as a mother-in-law, Driver said after a long, painful pause. “It would have been — colorful.”
