Nelson de la Rosa, better known as Pedro Martinez's miniature sidekick and Boston Red Sox good luck charm, is upset at his former friend, and vows to support the Red Sox instead of moving over to the Mets, the New York Daily News reported.

De la Rosa, a Dominican dwarf, is apparently angry over comments Martinez made at his introductory news conference last week with the Mets.

"He broke my heart," de la Rosa told the Daily News. "That's not right what he said about me."

Martinez angered de la Rosa by downplaying his role as a good luck charm for the Red Sox. "That was just a trick," Martinez said.

He then scooped up another midget who was in attendance and referred to de la Rosa as a "palm-sized pipsqueak."

De la Rosa was angered, saying "That little guy just wants to be famous. Well, I'm already famous." De la Rosa was referring to his past appearance in the movie "The Island of Dr. Moreau" with Marlon Brando.

Martinez and de la Rosa have not spoken since Boston's World Series celebration parade.

De la Rosa was unhappy Martinez left the Red Sox.

"I wanted him to stay with Boston, but that's his decision," he told the Daily News.

Like Martinez was, de la Rosa says he is a free agent to any team looking for a good luck charm.

"I'm not going to the Mets unless some other Dominican ballplayer makes me an offer," he told the Daily News. "And if the Yankees call me, I'll go with them."

But de la Rosa insists that he is still idolized by Red Sox fans, unlike Martinez.

"I'm the one and only," he said. "I'm still Nelson, and that's from the heart."
