DIJON, France - Singer Eric Clapton was able to keep a smile through a run-in with French police even as they took his driver’s license away from him.
Police say they clocked the star in his Porsche 9-11 going 134 miles per hour down a highway on Tuesday. They say that’s more than 50 miles per hour above the posted speed limit.
Police took away his British driver’s license, suspending his right to drive in France.
Clapton paid a nearly $1,000 fine before being whisked away by his secretary.
However, he kept his humor about him agreeing to a photo session with French police.
