ATHENS, Greece - Olympics organizers reached their ticket sales goal with five days left until the closing ceremony.

Athens Games organizers said they sold 58,000 tickets on Monday, bringing the total to 3.4 million. Approximately 5.3 million seats were available for the games.

Organizers originally set a goal of 3.4 million, then lowered it to 3.1 million as sales lagged. Most tickets have been sold for the semifinals and finals, which will take place during the last days of the games.
