Fur flies over Crawford ads

Cindy Crawford might want to brace herself for some unwelcome attention.
The model who once posed for PETA’s “I’d rather go naked than wear fur” ad campaign apparently has changed her mind — she’s starring in a series of ads for fur giant Blackglama. A source tells The Scoop that the animal-rights group is planning to launch a “major campaign” to retaliate against its former ally.
“I know that when film and television careers don’t pan out, a model can become desperate, but you’re totally ruining your image by showing such a lack of integrity,” PETA’s Dan Mathews wrote in a letter to Crawford last week, reminding her of the petition she signed saying she’d never wear fur. “You have become a body without a heart or a head.”
Along with the letter, PETA sent Crawford its new video of chinchillas having their necks snapped and being electrocuted in a wall socket at a Michigan fur farm. The campaign won’t end there, says our source. “Remember when PETA stormed Giselle in the middle of a fashion show?” says the insider. “PETA knows where Cindy works and where she hangs out.”
Real men don't dis other men

“Orlando Bloom’s a hermaphrodite,” Messner told the Ottawa Citizen. We believe the star of the forthcoming “Anacondas: The Hunt For the Blood Orchid” was speaking facetiously about the “Lord of the Rings” heartthrob — but he went on to say, “I don’t want to be prettier than the woman I’m walking with. . . . Right now, what I feel in Hollywood is that they’re so pretty and dainty and so metro that it’s repulsive to me!”
Messner apparently thinks that there aren’t many “real men” in Hollywood these days. He trashed or dismissed a long list of Hollywood stars as being too old or too feminine, and when asked about Vin Diesel he replied, “Listen! Vin Diesel’s my friend for a long time (but) nobody wants a one-note actor. . . . I couldn’t even watch 10 minutes of [“XXX”]. It was repetitive. “A Man Apart” —nothing. I’m not trying to crap on Vin Diesel. I’m saying that if that’s what we’ve got now for a real man, then we’ve got problems.”
