As always, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve gathered up some of the best products and ideas to spice up your summer vacation beauty routine — from multi-tasking “treatment fragrances” to easy packing tips to on-the-cheap new looks.

It’s all here in the latest edition of our weekly fashion and beauty report!

Rimmel: Kate Moss loves it.

Inexpensive “celebrity” chic

You're on vacation and primed for adventure. What better way to express your fun new attitude than with a change of face? Now is a great time to try new makeup and hair looks — after all, nobody knows what you're "supposed" to look like! Best of all, you can experiment without spending a fortune: There are new quality makeup lines including a favorite of Kate Moss, who gets her smoky, kohl-rimmed eyes using Exaggerate Full Colour Eye Definer by Rimmel, a fashion forward British line now available at Wal-Mart. You’ll love the cost — $4.00! Other beauty trends to try: the must-have bronzed face look, super bright lips (instead of neutral shades) or lightly glossed lips in a fresh, fruity, peachy pink. Vacation is the time to lose the “ serious” lipstick and lip liner!

Trend Tip:
Other inexpensive makeup “finds”: Rimmel’s nail polish with Lycra, which bends and flexes without chipping ($1.97), and a new line at discount stores called e.l.f. — eyes, lips, face) where every product is just $1.00!

From Dior: Smells good — and does your skin good.

Double-duty beauty
We love the new trend toward multi-tasking products — less to buy, less to spend and less to pack. Many of these products focus on seasonal beauty challenges. For summer, that means high-quality sun protection, first and foremost. Look for products that moisturize, hydrate, smooth and protect. Laura Mercier combines a foundation as well — so your skin "duties" are taken care of at once! Multi-tasking doesn't stop there, however; these days, you can ask more of ALL your beauty products, so keep your eyes wide open. And talking of eyes, Maybelline New York’s brand new Sky High Curves mascara offers three-in-one — extreme length, curl — and it’s waterproof. Other multi-tasking concepts on the market are creams that double for blush and lip color (such as Stila Convertible Color) and Sisley’s Contour Cream, which adds color while also reducing fine lines around the eyes and lips.

Trend Tip:
Even fragrances are doubling up. New from Dior is the concept of a "treatment fragrance" called Sweet Sun. It combines mood- and skin-boosting ingredients with a warm, citrus-y scent. It not only smells delicious, but it has tephroline (to boost well-being) with anti-oxidizing, anti-aging Vitamin E to heal and smooth skin.

Flower power: From Zazendi.

Pack ’n’ go

Pack like a travel pro with "a place for everything, and everything in its place." Cosmetic bags, lingerie bags, and special sacks for yoga gear and wet swimsuits aren’t just nice to have — they’re essential if you want to emerge from your vacation journey stain- and breakage-free. At the very least, make sure you have waterproof bags for cosmetics, perfumes and breakable treatment products. If you’re bringing jewelry along, pick up a travel jewelry case to find items easily and to keep multiple necklaces with charms — one of the latest trends — untangled.

Trend Tip:
Be fashionable and coordinate your travel bag sets. www.Zazendi.com has plenty of pretty choices for both cosmetic and lingerie sets. Also, packing handy, travel-sized “packets” saves room. Essentials we swear by include Clinipad Nail polish remover pads for on-the-go manicures, Shiseido's travel-perfect Pureness Refreshing Sheets for a refreshing “touch up,” Shout stain-remover wipes and Woolite to hand wash lingerie and fine fabrics.

Glimmer and shimmer: From Shiseido.

Do the shimmer

Right now, sexy shimmers and glimmers are trend stars for both day and night, and the trend is to use them on your face, body — even on your hair. By day, you can add a touch of shimmer just about anywhere — on eyes, cheeks or lips, and the “unexpected” like your arms and legs. For evening, go with a bronzer that adds a bit of color and shine to your skin tone to highlight the day's sunkissed glow.  Day or night, try silver or gold Glimmer by Phyto  — apply it from your head right down to your toes or bronze and moisturize as you glow (triple duty!) with glistening body lotions like Body Bling Bronzer by Scott Barnes or Glow by J. Lo SexyBody Bronzing Body Moisturizer.

Trend Tip:
To boost your own inner glow, be sure to drink enough water! The cool new favorite of celebs like Gwyneth, Sting and Jennifer Garner is Iceland Spring — an ultra pure pour that's incredibly low in minerals, straight from the glaciers of Iceland. After sports or working out, try Amino Vital, a new performance drink from Japan that re-energizes with amino acids instead of carbs.

On-the-go grooming, from Louis Licari.

Hair helpers

Between sun, swimming, salt water and that great convertible car rental you just couldn't resist, your hair can take a real beating. We know it’s tempting to scale down on your hair care while you’re away — after all, who wants to pack all those products? To the rescue comes mini travel packs from some of the leading hair care companies and salons. What to expect? A shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and relaxing balm (such as Phyto Plage’s) all packed in one compact case. Now that’s smart!

Trend Tip:
It’s no secret that most women treat themselves to a little hair coloring “help,” so don’t “fry” your investment. One of our favorites is the Ionic Color Preservation System from Louis Licari — it comes in a traveling pack that contains the shampoo, conditioner, molding crème and root lift, all designed to work together to keep color at its best. Final tip: Don’t forget to ask for samples at salons or make-up counters to create your own travel pack!
