After doing a hatchet job on Ricky Martin's “She Bangs,” “American Idol” reject William Hung is taking on Queen's “We Are The Champions.”
The single, which will be released Wednesday, comes a day after a music video premiere on the Game Show Network. The song will be included on Hung's next album, due out in September.
As of May 31, his debut album, “Inspiration,” was nearing 100,000 copies sold.
The record deals are testing the limits on the Hong Kong native's 15 minutes of fame.
A civil engineering student at the University of California, he's spending most of his time these days touring to promote the album.
Hung has performed on Ellen DeGeneres' WB talk show “Ellen” and at halftime at two NBA arenas — one in New Orleans, the other in Oakland, Calif.
He also mangled a rendition of “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” during the seventh-inning stretch at a Toronto Blue Jays' home game.
Hung, who did not make the cut during a tryout for the hit Fox talent show, has also been parodied by comedian Jimmy Fallon on NBC's “Saturday Night Live.”
