Anderson not chicken
to take on KFC
Plus, Martha Stewart gets Moore
support; Britney gets more ink

Pam Anderson wants Dale Earnhardt Jr. to help out some chicks.
The former “Baywatch” babe wrote a pleading letter to the NASCAR star after she learned that his race car is sponsored by KFC — which has been under attack from animal rights groups such as PETA, for whom Anderson is a spokeswoman.
“Greetings from an admirer,” Anderson writes, then outlines the grievances against the fast food chain, including charges that it uses chickens that have been defeathered live with scalding water. “When you take a multimillion-dollar endorsement from a company, you must also take some responsibility for the company’s practices,” Anderson continues, “so we’re asking you to use your considerable influence with KFC to improve its animal-welfare standards.” Anderson even offers to have a letter drafted up that Earnhardt can sign and send to KFC.
Earnhardt didn’t return our calls for comment, but Anderson said in a statement to the Scoop: “Little chickens need a big man like Dale to stick up for them!”

“I go to bed with Martha Stewart every night,” the gadfly filmmaker told Playboy magazine in an issue hitting newsstands later this week. “Have you ever tried her sheets? They’re really nice. I hope she doesn’t go to jail. They wasted time and money on some rinky-dink $45,000 case that hurt no one while allowing corporate crooks to go loose.”
In the wide-ranging interview, Moore also blasts George Bush and the NRA, gushes over Hillary Clinton (“My feelings about her politically are clouded by my feelings for her. I’ve always been attracted to her.”), and speaks unkindly of former democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean. “My wife and I went to meet [Dean] with the idea of supporting him,” Moore told the mag. “We brought our checkbook. But we weren’t in the room with him five minutes when we thought, ‘Geez, this guy is kind of a (jerk).’”
Notes from all over
Britney Spears and her sweetie got matching tattoos, according to the UK press. The Toxic singer and main squeeze Kevin Federline reportedly visited a tattoo parlor in Ireland last week where she got a small pair of pink dice on her left inner wrist and he got a larger pair of blue dice on his right inner wrist. . . . Avril Lavigne says her upcoming concerts may be influenced by shock rocker Marilyn Manson. “I went to Marilyn Manson’s concert and I just thought it was so great, because it was just so different,” the “Under My Skin” singer told the Toronto Sun. . . . “Harry Potter” star Robbie Coltrane says he doesn’t like to appear on television because that only encourages the — egad! — fans. “There’s a kind of terrible lack of respect from people if you do television, because [fans] think you’re a part of the family, and they think that it’s all right to come and sit on your knee in the middle of an airport,” Coltrane told the London Daily Mail. “But the worst thing about doing telly is that the people who come up to you are almost invariably a-----. They are a------- at their work, they’re a------- in the pub, and they’re probably the a------ of the family.”
