LOS ANGELES - Robert Downey Jr.’s marriage to actress-singer Deborah Falconer is ending in divorce.

Divorce papers were filed Monday in Superior Court, Alan Nierob, a spokesman for the actor, said Tuesday. The couple, who were married in 1992 and have a son, Indio, had been separated.

Remarriage is on the horizon for Downey, 39, who is engaged to Susan Levin. They were brought together by the 2003 film “Gothika,” starring Halle Berry. He co-starred and Levin was a producer.

A wedding date has not been set, Nierob said.

The TV entertainment news magazine “Extra” reported Tuesday that financial terms of the divorce have yet to be settled.

Downey, 37, was an Academy Award nominee for 1992’s “Chaplin.”
