Dead scorpion found on US Airways flight

Jet fumigated at Charlotte airport after passengers moved to another plane

A dead scorpion was found on a US Airways flight on Thursday just as the plane was pulling away from a gate at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, NBC News has learned.

Passengers on Flight 1972, which originated in Houston, were moved to a different plane before taking off for Newark, N.J.

The jet is being fumigated at the airport and will be put back into service as soon as possible.
