It wasn't long after the NFL's gridiron greats started lacing up their cleats to play in football's biggest game that marketers realized they also could score big with viewers with their Super Bowl ads.
From Master Lock's 1974 shoot-'em-up commercial touting the strength of its padlocks, to Apple Computer's screen-shattering "1984" ad, to Budweiser's memorable "Whassup?" campaign, advertising agencies have used the Super Bowl to showcase some of their most creative work.
