DULUTH, Minn. — A Duluth woman whose wrought-iron fence was taken by a neighbor a few blocks away in September 2009 is expected to get a replacement. According to court records, 53-year-old Randy King admitted taking the antique fence and installing it in his yard.
He signed a diversion agreement last month on a charge of felony theft, agreeing to terms of probation, including restitution of $1,500.
Court records quoted King as saying he was given permission to take a fence in an adjacent lot but removed too much. But Duluth police said the victim told police a man had come by a month earlier and asked if he could buy the fence. She declined.
The Duluth News Tribune reported that an insurance company is paying for a new fence, which was expected to be installed by Monday.
