Airport spokesman Gunnar Scheunemann says the flights to cities in Germany and Europe were canceled on Monday. Many more were delayed.

Outbound flights were delayed by up to an hour and inbound ones were up to two hours late.

Scheunemann said it snowed all night. The snowfall is easing on Monday but delays are expected to continue through the day.

Frankfurt Airport is Germany's biggest airport and continental Europe's second-busiest after Paris' Charles de Gaulle.
