    >>> also developing right now, more news of civil unrest in iran . pro-government rallies are scheduled again today, nationwide, to suppress the thousands of opposition demonstrators that have stormed the streets in the last few days. iran 's police chief threatened harsh treatment for supporters of opposition leader mir hossein mousavi and anyone involved in "illegal rallies." ali arouzi is live from iran with more. how can iran 's government expect to stop these rallies? is that likely, ali ?

    >> reporter: well, chris, today they're trying to put a stop in front of the opposition rallies but bringing out a whole show of force in favor of the government. tens of thousands of pro-government spottupporters were in the streets today. they've been bused in from the rural areas, civil engineers , government workers were given the day off to attend the rally. also, there have been some very, very stern warnings, as you said, from iran 's police chief . he said that they're not going to tolerate any more rallies, that they're not going to show any mercy. he was quoted on state tv as saying, the arab tolerance is over. anyone attending an opposition rally will be crushed. so they're sending out a very stern message. they've also branded the people that are out protesting in the street no longer enemies of the state , but enemies of islam and god, which carries a death sentence. chris?
