Folk signer Arlo Guthrie will perform March 13 at Clearwater's Capitol Theatre, the show's promoter, Ruth Eckerd Hall, announced Monday.
Singer-songwriter Guthrie, son of folk legend Woody Guthrie, ironically had his biggest hit in 1972 with his version of Steve Goodman's "The City of New Orleans." His own compositions include "Coming Into Los Angeles," which he performed at Woodstock, and "Alice's Restaurant Massacree," his comic retelling of how a conviction for littering got him out of the draft. The song was made into a 1969 film.
Tickets, $50, go on sale at noon Friday, at the Ruth Eckerd Hall box office, 1111 McMullen-Booth Road in Clearwater. Call (727) 791-7400.
