SACRAMENTO, Calif. - KCRA.com
A Christmas miracle saved it last year, and the 27th annual Santa Parade is ready to roll again the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
In 2008, funding issues canceled the parade. Mayor Kevin Johnson donated $20,000 of money left over from his inauguration account, allowing the annual event to go on.
The event will start at 10 a.m. at Ninth and I streets on Nov. 28 and travel through downtown.
The parade will travel east on I Street from its start at Ninth and to 13th streets, south on 13th Street near the Convention Center, west on L Street, and north on Seventh Street. It will disband at Seventh and K streets. Announcers will be located on I Street between Ninth and 10th and at 11th and L streets.
Floats, marching bands, horses, clowns and many more festive attendees will be in the parade -- along with a special final appearance by Santa Claus.
The parade brings more than 25,000 spectators to downtown Sacramento.
