VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. - WESH.com

Investigators have identified the bodies of two men found in an Ormond by the Sea home.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office said 43-year-old Michael Floyd and 26-year-old Andrew Kakowski were victims of a double homicide. The sheriff's office did not release a cause of death for either man.

The sheriff's office said Floyd rented the home where the bodies were located, and Kakowski was an acquaintance of Floyd's who had been staying there for the past month or two.

Floyd had been interviewed by several news channels, including WESH 2 News, in September when his wife and stepdaughter were killed in what police believed was an illegal street race.

Police were called to the home on Alamanda Drive in Ormond by the Sea Sunday afternoon, where two men were found dead lying on the living room floor.

Investigators said a woman and her boyfriend discovered the bodies after driving to the home because she had not heard from her adult son.

Deputies said that when the pair arrived, no one answered the door. The boyfriend told investigators that he opened the door and saw a body on the ground.

"Right now, we are treating this as a suspicious death investigation," said Lt. Bob Kelley of the Volusia County Sheriff's Office."

Once police showed up, another man's body was discovered on the living room floor.

Crime scene investigators are still collecting evidence inside the home. The sheriff's office said it expects the process to be completed today.
