Arson Fire Damages Peoria Home

The Peoria Fire Department is adding its latest blaze to a blitz of arson fires in the River City this year.

The latest suspected arson fire broke out on the 22-hundred-block of West Butler in Peoria just before two Sunday morning.

According to the resident of the home, the fire started in the back of the garage by the alley.

The Peoria Fire Department was able to get the blaze under control within ten minutes.

No one was injured.

Damages are estimated at 25-hundred dollars.

A second fire Sunday afternoon resulted in a minor injury to a Peoria firefighter.

The blaze broke out in the Uplands Neighborhood around 12-45.

The home's occupant was able to escape but is getting Red Cross assistance for the night.

The cause is under investigation.
