Wyandotte County District Attorney Jerome A. Gorman announced charges against two men in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man.
Gerson Diaz-Turcios, 19, was shot to death at about 8:20 p.m. Friday near 18th Street and Central Avenue. His brother, Jose Diaz-Turcios, was injured in the shooting.
Gorman announced that Eldier Molina, 20, and Juan Lopez, 18, both of Kansas City, Kan., have both been charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder.
Molina is being held at the Wyandotte County Jail in lieu of a $10 million bond. Police said they're still looking for Lopez and consider him to be armed and dangerous.
Lopez had been acquitted last month in the February slaying of Ricky Zamora.
Police asked anyone with information about the case or the location of Lopez to call the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department at 913-573-3000 or the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
