"Where in the world does it come from? You tell me -- may the world tell me -- because I have no clue," said Larry Kidd.

Police said no charges would be filed against Kidd, who was home on his front porch three days after being tied to the case. He said he has never met any members of the Mohler family, several members of which are accused of sexually molesting children on their Missouri ranch.

Kidd said it's possible police took him into custody because he knows one of the alleged victims.

"They told me, man to man, that they wanted to talk to me and if they found nothing against me, that they would let me go," Kidd said. "In fact, they said, 'We will take you back to your house.'"

Kidd said investigators did, in fact, let him go less than 24 hours after taking him into custody. Still, he said that the fact that he was paraded in public in handcuffs will probably make some people think he is guilty.

"It does. It definitely does," he said. "It's not going to make me do something that I regret."

He said he's glad for his freedom and glad to be disassociated with a criminal case that's getting national headlines.

"This is what was told to me," he said. "That I was a friend and that I had been out to the ranch. This was told to me. And the answer is no. No, no and no."
