Check unemployment benefits eligibility on the Web

TALLAHASSEE - Wonder if you qualify for extended unemployment benefits? Now you can find out with a click.

Florida's unemployment agency on Friday says it has launched a new online feature for jobless to see if they are eligible for benefits under a 20-week extension approved by Congress last week.

The Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation, which oversees unemployment, has the new feature on its Web site. Applicants will have to enter their Social Security number and PIN to determine if
they are eligible.

Up to 250,000 Floridians who have exhausted benefits are will by year-end are expected to be helped by the extension.
