Avon H.S. band wins second straight national title

Indianapolis - Avon High School has repeated as national champions at Bands of America.
Avon won the Grand National Championship Saturday night at Lucas Oil Stadium. The band beat L.D. Bell H.S. from Texas and Marian Catholic H.S. from Illinois to capture their second straight title.
The school had won the Class 4A championship earlier in the day. Center Grove H.S. won the Class 3A championship and finished ninth in the finals.
Carmel finished fifth and Lawrence Central, who finished third last year, finished eighth.
