Local Marines Celebrate 234th Birthday of the Marine Corps

MARTINSBURG, WV - Local marines brought out the big guns for a birthday bash celebrating the 234th anniversary of the Marine Corps.
Marines from the region attended the event in Martinsburg as well as Marines from the Washington, D.C. area.
The guest speaker was Jim Warner, a prisoner of war who served with Republican presidential candidate John McCain.
The festivities included a Marine Color Guard and the cutting of a birthday cake with a saber.
Staff Sgt. Solomon T. Watts of the U.S. Army Honor Guard said, "To support the Marine Corps as an Army NCO is important because we all support each other." Read more atyour4state.com.
