MENLO PARK, Calif. - KCRA.com
A girl severely injured in a hit-and-run involving a racing vehicle has died while police continue to search for a suspect who could be headed to the Central Valley.
Investigators are seeking Shannon Steven Hodgson Fox, 24, of East Palo Alto, in connection with a hit-and-run shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday at Bayfront Expressway and Willow Road.
Investigators said one of the racing cars ran a red light and struck a third car, severely injuring a woman and a 6-year-old girl. Police said the girl died from her injuries on Friday.
Police said a driver abandoned one of the race vehicles, got into the other vehicle involved in the alleged race and fled the scene.
