"From everything I've heard, multiple sources say it will happen Saturday morning," Palmo said.

Although Palmo won't say who the new archbishop will be, he mentioned four candidates several weeks ago.

Bishop Gerald Kicanis of Tucson, Bishop Blase Cupich of Rapid City, South Dakota, La Crosse Bishop Jerome Listecki, and Bishop William Callahan, who is currently running the Milwaukee Archdiocese on an interim basis.

Some Catholics who spoke with TODAY'S TMJ4 heard Bishop Kicanis will get the job, and according to a spokesman for the Tucson Archdiocese, Bishop Kicanis will not be in Arizona Saturday morning.

If a new archbishop is appointed Saturday morning, it will be posted on the Milwaukee Archdiocese Web site at 5 a.m.
