The field is down to three. One of the candidates who wants to be Broome Community College's next president interviewed today with the college's board of trustees. Her name is Cheri Jimeno and is currently the President of New Mexico State University Alamogordo, which is also a community college. BCC is a little larger than where she is now. Jimeno says she likes this location, size, and how the community supports BCC. Cheri says, One of the things I think I can bring is obviously experience and background in higher education, leadership to a campus. The campus has most definitely had leadership throughout its history, but I think I bring an experience to the campus as an experienced president and certainly within the academic arena as well. I also believe I can bring a great positive attitude that is always necessary with any institution. The other two candidates will be interviewed next week. BCC has been without a permanent president since Laurence Spraggs resigned in June of last year.
