Accused sexual predator Daniel Acker missed an important appointment with law enforcement and a court date this week. His mother told investigators he went on vacation to Disney World.

MILWAUKEE - Investigators are trying to locate accused sexual predator Daniel Acker, who is out on bail awaiting sentencing. Acker was charged with befriending and sexually assaulting teenage boys.

He pleaded guilty to the sexual assault in a plea agreement that was signed in September of this year.

This week, Acker was scheduled to meet with a probation agent for an interview that would be used to write a pre-sentence investigation that would factor into Acker's sentence. When Acker failed to show up for the interview on Monday, investigators tried unsuccessfully to find him.

Court records detail the search for Daniel Acker. During the investigation into his whereabouts, a state agent spoke with Acker's mother, Ardyce Acker, who said Acker "was in Florida at Disney World." Ardyce Acker also explained that she was expecting Acker to return to Wisconsin a few days before Thanksgiving.

Acker then missed a court appearance on Wednesday. The prosecutor on the case asked Judge Kevin Martens to issue a warrant for Acker's arrest. The judge declined to issue that warrant but scheduled another court hearing on Monday, November 16, to give Acker another chance to appear in court.

According to investigators, Acker worked as a swim coach in the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District. Police said he used the job to meet vulnerable teenage boys, befriended them, and then repeatedly sexually assaulted them. Police said the pattern of abuse extended for decades.

Acker's attorney, Robert Peterson, said he was "not going to comment on Mr. Acker's case."

Peterson notified court staff that Acker moved to Madison to live with his sister, Michaela Moy. When TODAY'S TMJ4 went to the home in Madison, the woman who came to the door slammed it closed without commenting on where Acker could be.

According to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office, Acker's lawyer was able to reach him. The District Attorney's office expects Acker will meet his obligation to appear in court Monday morning.

One of Acker's alleged victims, who is not involved in the court case because the alleged abuse happened too long ago to be charged in court, said he was not surprised. "It's pretty much what one would expect from somebody like him," the victim said.

But the victim also said it is unlikely Acker forgot about his court obligations saying, "when he had an appointment, when he had anything, he remembered it. In fact, he used to have one of them calendars on his desk and he used to keep every single appointment he had written on it."
