Coleman Makes Changes To JPD Command Staff

JACKSON, Miss. - WAPT.com
Jackson’s new police chief, Rebecca Coleman, announced changes Friday to the department’s command staff.
Coleman’s predecessor, Tyrone Lewis, was named as deputy chief of the Community Services Division.
Lee Vance will continue to serve as assistant chief.
Brent Winstead replaces Gerald Jones as deputy chief of investigations, JPD officials said.
Eric Wall replaced Dewayne Thomas as deputy chief of patrol operations. Thomas is now the commander of the Planning and Research Division, officials said.
Gerald Jones will continue as deputy chief of standards and training and commands the Police Training Academy, officials said.
Donald Gator was named Precinct 1 commander. Jeremiah Jones will become Precinct 2 commander and Ron Sampson was named Precinct 3 commander. Kenneth Goodrum will continue to serve as Precinct 4 commander.
The changes will go into effect Sunday, Coleman said.
The Jackson City Council confirmed Coleman last month as Jackson's police chief.
