Investigators are on the scene of a school bus crash in Greenville County.
The wreck happened at 6:45 a.m. on State Park Road near Altamont Road. It involved a bus and a blue Dodge Neon.
Matt Kirkpatrick told News 4's Sean Muserallo he was driving behind the bus when the wreck happened. Kirkpatrick said he noticed the driver of the Neon swerve off the road and into the wrong lane. The driver nearly went off the road into the ditch, he said.
"The bus driver did everything right," Kirkpatrick said. "She swerved over to try to miss the vehicle that was practically in her lane, and that's when the vehicle corrected itself and it went underneath the bus."

Several emergency crews responded to the accident. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to try to get the driver of the blue Dodge Neon out of his car, which was stuck under the front of the bus.
Kirkpatrick said one student was on the bus with the driver. He said, "The 9 year old bumped his head on the back of the seat in the bus."
Greenville County school district spokesman Oby Lyles said, "The bus had just started it's route. Both the student and bus driver were taken to the hospital for precautionary measures."

The driver in the Neon was eventually removed from the vehicle and rushed to the hospital.
The crash caused a chain reaction of other minor accidents. A child passenger in a third vehicle was seen being taken to the hospital by ambulance, according to Muserallo.
Highway patrol officials will have State Park Road shut down for several hours while they investigate the wreck.
State Park Road is closed in both directions at Altamont Road to Half Mile Lake Drive. The crash site is north of the Cherrydale area of Greenville County.
