Clown-Mask-Wearing Robber Arrested in Preston County

Troopers in Preston County have arrested a man for robbing a Masontown bar in a clown mask.

It happened on Oct. 6, 2009 at about 9:30 p.m.

Steven Dewitt admitted to tying up the bartender at Soccorsi's bar and robbing her at gunpoint, according to a release from the Kingwood detachment.

Investigators found the mask Dewitt used, and sent if for DNA testing, the release states.

They developed suspects whom they questioned and collected DNA samples from to compare to that found on the mask, according to troopers.

Dewitt is in the North Central Regional Jail.
