COLCHESTER, Vt. - WPTZ.com
School officials in Colchester have taken action to keep students in line.
On Thursday, technicians installed 23 surveillance cameras inside and outside Colchester High School, where Superintendent Larry Waters said one "prank" went too far.
"Over the last several years, we've had a number of incidents at the high school that have been alarming to us," said Waters.
Incidents like student fights and a bomb threat found in a boy's bathroom last April.
The bomb threat closed school and launched a police investigation.
Police never found a bomb and have not determined who was behind the false alarm.
According to school officials, the cameras will not be monitored but will be reviewed if something happens.
"I thought it was a good idea. It makes it much safer for the children," said parent John Hathaway.
