Former KCCI-TV anchor Jeanette Trompeter announced Thursday that she's accepted a new job in California.
Trompeter was laid off by CBS-affiliate WCCO in March. Thursday, she announced on her blog that she would be joining KSBY in San Luis Obispo, the station where she started her broadcasting career.
Trompeter will join the station in January.
Trompeter wrote, "I can't believe it's really happening. It's always been a quiet longing, but now it's really happening. I'm coming home to the Central Coast of California."
"I've always dreamed of coming home to the station where I got my start. There's no place in the country like the Central Coast," Trompeter said in a KSBY news release.
Trompeter will anchor the 5, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts.
