One dead, 4 injured in traffic accident

Three cars were involved in a deadly car accident that happened on Geiger Grade Wednesday night.

At about 8 p.m., at the intersection of State Route 341 and Toll Road the driver of a minivan ran a red light, hitting a black car that had the right-of-way, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. That car then slammed into a pick-up truck. An occupant of the car was killed and four others were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries, the NHP said.

The intersection was closed for hours while troopers investigated. There's still no word on whether alcohol was involved in the crash.
