Home robbery leaves 1 man dead

TAMPA - A 20-year-old man died Wednesday night after being shot in the back during a robbery, the Tampa Police Department said.

At around 8:30 p.m., Marc Robert Strode was sitting at an outdoor table and playing cards outside a West Tampa home with several friends when two men armed with handguns pulled up to the home, 4309 W. Arch St.

One of the suspects fired a shot in the air and the men started to run from the scene, police said. Strode was shot at several times and was hit once in the back, police said.

He collapsed at the corner of Arch Street and Hubert Avenue.

He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he died at around 11 p.m., police said. Police have no address for Strode.

The police are searching for three black males who are in their 20s. The vehicle they were in was dark-colored and had a loud muffler.
