Harrisburg (KMTR) - A Harrisburg man was injured during a barn fire that caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage. The fire destroyed several semi trucks and antiques. Jeff Haffner uses the trucks at his parent's home on Curtis Road in Harrisburg to pick up Christmas trees in Salem and deliver them all over Oregon . He is scheduled to start pick up next week. Thankfully - a neighbor offered to lend a truck to help the Haffner family out. The fire broke out around ten o’clock Tuesday night. “By the time we got here it was fully engulfed in flames,” said daughter-in-law Vikki Haffner. The barn contained several semi trucks and antique motors. A small dog also died. Numan Haffner ran to save an antique tractor and ended up with several burns on his face and hands. His family took him to the hospital. He was released Wednesday morning and is expected to be okay. Investigators say a heat lamp might be to blame. However, Harrisburg Fire said they may never know how it started.
