Another Veteran's Day service, in Los Osos brought together a number of veterans from all branches of the military, where they shared their stories of service amongst each other.
Veteran's day has a tendency to go by relatively unnoticed by most folks, but for anyone who has served, this day brings reflection upon their service. More importantly, it was a time for them to share their thoughts about being a veteran.
Most vets tend to keep a lot of what they did while serving to themselves,
So getting together, brings them to a better comfort level when it comes to talking about war stories.
"I thank God that I'm here today because what I went through, I thank God for bringing me back full piece," said John Perez, a local veteran.
It is a day, too, where others have a chance to learn and understand the significance of what a veteran has done for our country.
"We brought our students out here today for a couple of hours just so that they could learn to appreciate all the veterans and what they do for our country," said Grace Ng, a Valley View Academy teacher.
For vets, they say a simple "thanks" means more than anything to them on Veteran's Day.
