Yakima celebrates Veterans Day with annual parade

YAKIMA, Wash. - Hundreds came out to the annual parade hosted by the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post Wednesday to see various groups of the community walk and drive through downtown.

Multiple school bands performed along with car clubs, and law enforcement agencies.

Pat Lambert is a veteran of the Vietnam War and said he had a simple message he wanted everyone to take away from the parade.

"Just to remember our veterans and the sacrifices they made,” he said. “Some gave all and all gave some."

The VFW hosted a breakfast in the morning and had food and drinks for those who participated after the parade as well.

The parade began at Naches Ave. around 11:00 a.m. and worked their way up Yakima Ave. wrapping up at 6th Ave.
