The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Highland Park was dedicated in 1996. The theme of this memorial is to educate, to commemorate, and to heal. It is one of the largest and most elaborate memorials in the nation outside Washington, D.C.

It took a decade of hard work of countless volunteers. Some gave of their time while others gave money.

The memorial is dedicated to the 280 servicemen from our area who gave their lives in defense of their country.
