Stacey, 56, is a homeless father of five. Police said he wasn't using the crosswalk that was about 50 yards from the point of impact.

Stacey's daughter, who said her father was homeless by choice, said she's angry and wants to know how a driver could leave the scene after hitting someone.

"That makes me angry," said Holly Stacey. "I think whoever did it should turn themselves in."

The man's funeral is being held in his Virginia hometown.

Reporter Deanna Lambert is working on this story and will have a full report on Channel 4 News at 5:00.
