NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A family is searching for answers in a man's death
Larry W. Stacey was hit by an SUV Friday in Donelson while trying to cross the street at 9:15 p.m. He died at the scene.
Police said an SUV was seen speeding out of the Raceway gas station a few feet away.
Stacey, 56, is a homeless father of five. Police said he wasn't using the crosswalk that was about 50 yards from the point of impact.
Stacey's daughter, who said her father was homeless by choice, said she's angry and wants to know how a driver could leave the scene after hitting someone.
"That makes me angry," said Holly Stacey. "I think whoever did it should turn themselves in."
The man's funeral is being held in his Virginia hometown.
