Hawaii celebrated Veterans Day with a number of ceremonies on Wednesday.
Federal, state and city-county offices will be closed, as will schools and most financial institutions. There is no mail delivery.
On Oahu, the public bus system runs on a Saturday schedule and on-street parking was free.
The annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl was held at 10 a.m.
The Wahiawa community hosted the annual Veterans Day parade at 10 a.m. on California Avenue.
Lt. Gov. James "Duke" Aiona honors veterans from Hawaii and the nation at the annual Governor's Veterans Day ceremony at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe in the afternoon. (
