Kauai police have opened a murder investigation after an autopsy determined that the man whose body was found in a car died as result of a homicide.

Authorities identified the victim as Daniel Buonanno, 37, of Kapaa.

His body was found with apparent injuries in a car on Loop Road in Wailua Homesteads on Monday morning, police said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Kauai police or Crime Stoppers at 241-1887.
