Buffalo, NY (WKBW) -- Thousands and thousands of volunteers are working together to quickly rebuild the house on Massachusetts Avenue in Buffalo, and also give the neighborhood an overall makeover in just one week.

Among the crowd of volunteers on Tuesday were several Sabres Alumni such as Larry Playfair and Rob Ray. "We've come down to lend our support because it's a fabulous thing and anytime you can give back it's great," former Sabre Rob Ray said. "We've talked about it for a long time and this was our opportunity to step forward."

The project all started when Delores Powell and her four children were picked by Extreme Makeover Home Edition to have her house on Massachusetts Avenue completely redone. The process started over the weekend when the house was knocked down and everything was cleared away. By the end of Tuesday the frame of the new house was finished.

The house needs to be completed on Friday so there's still plenty of work to be done.
