HAVERHILL, Mass. - A father appeared in court Tuesday for a dangerousness hearing after he was accused of assaulting his infant daughter.
The man, 18-year-old Ivan Rosario, was charged with assault and battery on a child causing substantial bodily harm.
Rosario allegedly was watching his four-month-old daughter, Yolisse Rivera, while the baby's mother was preparing a bottle. To make her stop crying, Rosario picked her up over his head and shook her.
The baby was rushed to Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She is suffering from a serious brain injury.
